Who are you?

Who am I that’s a big question because I’m still trying to figure that out myself. I would say I’m a very outgoing open person. I can make someone who’s uncomfortable and lost and make them feel at home.

How did your softball journey begin?

My softball journey began at a young age and everyone in my family had played baseball or softball and I wanted to try it to. At this age though I decided this is what I loved and my dad started taking me to lessons so I could accomplish all the things I wanted to with this sport.

What are your greatest strengths as a softball player?

My ability to communicate, stay focused, and being committed.

"Myleah is an athlete coaches love! She’s a fierce competitor, who gives you everything she has every game. She’s a extremely solid defensively at second base as well as the outfield and absolutely rakes in the batters box."

--- Coach Tackett Louisville Sluggers

What kind of hitter are you and what are your most recent offensive stats?

Power hitter.

Fall Travel season batting average was .475 OBP .553 and only 7 strikeouts

Varsity high school as an 8th grader Batting Average was .464 with 12 doubles 2 triples and 5 homeruns.

Describe your leadership style and what characteristics do you find in outstanding leaders?

My leadership style is more to communicates lot and to make sure everyone is having fun while still working together to achieve what are ultimate goal is. The most outstanding leadership characteristics is being able to take a bunch of different individuals into a team that strives together.

You’re obviously very busy with so many activities and events in your life. How do you balance your life and manage your time so effectively?

I have struggled with procrastination but I have found out it’s more stressful if you wait to do things last minute so I get the things I need to such as school work done first so later on I am

not stressed out.

Describe your gameday mental preparation and your thought process and mindset in the circle and/or the batters box.

I tell myself I got this take a deep breath when I step in the box’s and release my stress.

What is your favorite sports memory and greatest achievement?

My favorite sports memory is when I went to Select 30 in 2022. Getting to meet all those girls and really connecting with them was amazing and getting all the pointers from everyone.

As an 8th grader getting All-District all season and All-Tournament and 2A All-State.

How do you handle adversity and even failure?

I like to take my failure and turn it into motivation I’ve learned you can’t change what happened in the past but you can work to help prevent it in the future. Failure is a thing everyone has to deal with even some of the best players ever has mistakes and everyone messes up but it all about how you react/ carry yourself after.

"Myleah Read is a strong member of the TCHS Lady Cards Softball program. She brings great energy and is a hard worker. With pop in her bat, good speed on the bases, and versatility in her defensive game, she has a bright future. Myleah takes her work ethic into the classroom as well as team fundraising and community outreach programs. We are excited to see what this season holds for Myleah."

--- David Bradstreet, Head Coach TCHS Softball

How would your teammates and friends describe you?

Upbeat, bubbly, outgoing, loud.

Who is your role-model and or idol and why?

My role model is my Pawpaw because he was a kind-hearted sweet person and always stayed true to himself and hated none and loved a lot.

If you could spend a day with any softball player, former or current, who would it be and why?

Montana Fouts and Jaydyn Goodwin because there both from small towns in Kentucky like me and made it big.

What is your softball dream/goal?

My softball dream is to reach my best ability in softball and to be playing at a D1 school and after to be a occupational therapist.

Describe your perfect softball team.

A team full of like minded players that all have the same goal and 100% committed.

When deciding on what college team to play for what are the most important things you’re looking for?

When deciding what team I would want to play for in college the most important thing for me would be the coaching staff I would have to be able to connect with them and feel like I can still be my normal self. This also leads into team chemistry I’m a type of player if I don’t feel comfortable with the people I’m playing with I won’t preform to the best of my abilities. It’s important that we all support each other and are able to work well together.

What gets you hyped or ready before a game?

It all depends on how I’m feeling that day if I’m doubting myself or not really having the best day I like to listen to motivational podcast to give me confidence . If I’m in a good mood and feeling really good I like to listen to upbeat music and have fun with my team.

What is your favorite jersey number and why did you choose it?

My favorite jersey number is 24 and I chose this because at a young age I was 23 and someone took that so I just went up one and it stuck with me . I also like to wear number 11 because it was my grandpas favorite number.

What other hobbies do you have to balance out softball and your personal life?

Unlike most I don’t play any other sport at a young age I did but I decided that softball was what I was best at and wanted to put all my time and effort into this sport however

I like to attend other sporting events in the pep club to support our school and I like to read poetry and painting.

.

Who would you like to thank for your softball achievements and support?

I would really like to thank my mom and dad. They have always supported all my dreams and accomplishments and what I wanted to accomplish plus I wouldn’t have never been able to do all the things I do without them because i know this takes a lot of time and money.
