There are numerous processes involved in manufacturing a part or product before it is released to the customer base. While it may appear to be a linear process, many of these stages must be completed multiple times before the part/product can proceed to the next stage. The prototype development phase is one example of such a stage. This is one of the most important stages because it determines whether the product will be fit for manufacture or function. It also saves money because the machinist can remove unnecessary features from the parts during this stage.
